It also provides info for healthcare & other proffessionals who come into contact with bereaved people, to help them understand the impact of suicide.

With practicle activities that can help them make sense & learn to cope.
Always and Forever. Alan Durant & Debi Gliori Picture Corgi Books 978-0-552-54877-9 2004 Otter, Mole and Hare miss Fox when he falls ill and dies. They stay at home and don’t want to talk about him because it makes them sadder. Then Squirrel visits and reminds them of all the fun times they had together. They all find a way to remember Fox and get on with their lives. Colourful, detailed pictures in this book emphasise the importance of holding on to memories.
When Dinosaurs Die Laurie Frasny Brown & Marc Brown. Little, Brown & Company. 978-0-316-11955-9 1998 This factual picture book uses cartoon dinosaurs to illustrate the text and comment on what is said. It is a bright and colourful book that explains death in a simple and unthreatening way. It covers many issues including ‘why does someone die?’, ‘feelings about death’ and ‘saying goodbye’. It would be an excellent resource for anyone caring for young children.
Ostrich Boys. Keith Gray A definitions Book 978-0-099-45657-5 2008 It's not really kidnapping, is it? He'd have to be alive for it to be proper kidnapping.' Kenny, Sim and Blake are about to embark on a remarkable journey of friendship. Stealing the urn containing the ashes of their best friend Ross, they set out from Cleethorpes on the east coast to travel the 261 miles to the tiny hamlet of Ross in Dumfries and Galloway. This interactive book can help by explaining depression in kids terms, reasuring kids (3-8 yrs) that their parent can get better, helping children understand & express their feelings, providing practical tips for coping & showing children how they can feel better themselves.
